    Speaker: Hans Nilges

    The law firm of Morrow & Meyer, LLC will present on legal issues surrounding the Fair Labor Standards Act.  The presentation will initially highlight the ubiquity of inadvertent violations of the FLSA from oversight or misunderstanding.  The attorneys will then discuss and provide example of the legal, economic and business consequences of such errors.  Best practices will be discussed, and tools will be provided, to discover current errors and avoid future errors.  Finally, the attorneys will walk attendees through the anatomy of an FLSA collective action lawsuit, which will include suggestions as to how liability may be mitigated even after a lawsuit has been filed.

    Hans Nilges joined Morrow & Meyer LLC as a Partner in 2010. Hans focuses his practice on representing public and private employers in all areas of labor and employment law, including labor negotiations, arbitrations, unfair labor practice proceedings, union election campaigns and employment discrimination lawsuits. Prior to joining the Firm, Hans worked for a large Northeast Ohio law firm. He has been consistently recognized as an Ohio Super Lawyer- Rising Star in Labor and Employment law. Hans also serves as the Director of Law for the City of North Canton.
