    Speaker: Dr. Kitty Brandall

    Bio:

    Dr. Kitty Brandal, President of Corporate Compass Training and Development is an experienced independent trainer who has been training and teaching for over 20 years in the U.S. Navy and corporate sector. She has designed curriculum and taught various topics in higher education and for seminars and workshops. She has an undergraduate degree in organizational behavior, a graduate degree in management and a doctorate in organizational management and leadership. Her doctoral research looked at the relationship between communication apprehension and emotional intelligence. Dr. Brandal’s expertise lies in the areas of emotional intelligence, diversity awareness and leadership development. She is also an award winning speaker with Toastmasters International.

    Topic:

    To increase awareness of the importance of managing emotions intelligently with people in the workplace.

    Course objectives:

    1. Describe what emotional intelligence is and how it relates to the workplace.
    2. Describe how the brain functions and the physiological occurrences in the body and how to manage an emotional hijack.
    3.  Discuss the importance of mirror neurons and how to use them to your advantage during emotionally charged situations.
