Positive Psychology: The Science of Happiness
presented by
Dr. Barbara Fordyce, Ph. D. -Psychologist
Positive psychology is the study of happiness. Psychology traditionally has focused on mental illness or other psychological problems and how to treat them. Positive psychology, by contrast, is a relatively new field that examines how ordinary people can become happier and more fulfilled. A Toolbox for Happiness will be presented.
Objectives:
- Describe “positive psychology”, its history and philosophical tenets.
- Provide a toolbox of evidence-based strategies that enhance “positivity” in life.
- Discuss ways to apply these in the world of work.
