    : Building Strong Bridges
    Dr. Sarah Andreas 

    If HR is an integral part of any organization, why can it feel like you are all alone on an island? In this interactive keynote we will talk about building bridges between departments and how to change the perception of the HR department within your organization. Building strong relationships between the HR department and other departments can strengthen the whole organization. We are going to explore the blueprint you can follow. Participants will: 

    • Identify the perceptions of HR 
    • Understand their role in the perceptions of HR 
    • Identify and create an action plan for building strong relationships with all departments

    Session I: A Plan for Change
    Ned Parks 

    The ability to engage employees in change is rapidly becoming a key determinant of business success. Leaders need a clear understanding of the factors involved so they can take action and lead change effectively. Organizations, divisions or teams that want to increase the return on investment for change initiatives can use this program to build a shared language and collective insights into what it takes to bring people on board. This program provides a platform for: 

    • Sharing experiences of change processes 
    • Applying theoretical models for organizational change 
    • Deepening participants’ understanding of the human side of change  
    • Identifying successful methods for implementing change 

    Session IITuned In or Tuned Out? Building a Psychologically Safe Workplace that Promotes Maximum Engagement

    During this session, we will examine what employees value most in the workplace. We will further explore the importance of psychological safety and how the presence or absence thereof affects individuals and teams at work. Attendees will acquire the knowledge and skills to know how they can contribute to a psychologically safe work environment that both helps them thrive individually and is the ultimate skill set needed for productive teams. Attendees will: 

    • Learn the three “buckets” of workplace motivators 
    • Understand what psychological safety is and how it shows up in the workplace 
    • Understand how an environment of psychological safety promotes thriving and engaged employees 
    • Explore THE most important factor in creating a successful team  
    • Discover the ROI you can expect from a psychological safety focus in the workplace

    Learn to reorder engagement habits, fine-tune responses and cultivate connections. Topics covered in this upbeat keynote include: 

    • Mindset (are you focused on your work? boundaries - with your colleagues/your time/space, conversation-types: how to really listen!) 
    • Vision (organizations vision, how your personal vision fits with your organization) 
    • Habits (managing your workflow - make it clear, help them automate it, delete-do-delegate, etc.)

    Session IManaging Stress During Times of Change
    Kristy Frieden 

    Change is a constant in today’s fast-paced business environment. This session will provide a better understanding of how to cope with stress caused by organizational change. Participants will explore the following learning objectives: 

    • Understand the change process 
    • Determine how to manage stress during change 
    • Identify the key aspects of adaptability 

    Session IIFML...A-Z Overview*

    The Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA) went into effect over 26 years ago. Yet there is as much confusion surrounding the FLMA as at its inception. This session is designed to cover the FMLA from A to Z and to provide participants with the tools and practical knowledge needed to effectively manage the FMLA and its association with other laws (e.g. ADA, BWC, GINA, PDA…and more). This session will provide an overview of: 

    • FMLA basics 
    • Alphabet soup 
    • Managing supervisors and managers 

    *Recommended for those who are just beginning to administer FMLA.
